Investigators

  • Dr. S Velasquez (UK-PI) is a Chem. Eng. with 10y of experience in microalgae research. She has acted as PI in funded microalgae projects, she leads a research group and has been recognized by MIT for her novel developments.
  • Dr. MT Orta (Mex-PI) has studied the ozone treatment of leachates over the last 12y; and has researched the application of ozone for microalgae separation for 3y with Dr I Monje (Mex-CoI).
  • Dr. I Monje ( Mex-II) specialises in pilot plant and microalgae separation by ozone flotation
  • MEng I Yáñez (Mex-IIUNAM) (Project coordinator), has 18 years of experience in the coordination and development of different environmental research projects.

Business Case Team  

  • Dr G Soberon (CID-Mex) specializes on conducting activities that can transform research outputs into business cases, she will work with a Mex-AT costed.
  • Ms L McQueen (ET-UK) coordinates a portfolio of university innovations and helps produce business cases.

Research Associates

  • Dr. Valentine Eze (UK- Research associate) has a PhD in Chem. Eng. from Newcastle University and he has experience on the development of biodiesel from different vegetable stocks.
  • Mr Julio César Rodríguez Cano. (Mex-Research associate) chemical engineer from UNAM,  he has experience in sustainability, innovation and entrepeneurship. He will develop a business case with the guidance of Dr G soberon.
